The journey to the Far East: Moscow – Yekaterinburg – Irkutsk – Vladivostok is a fantastic odyssey that will allow you to visit unique places and see breathtaking landscapes. This route to the Far East passes through eight time zones.
Located in the heart of the Ural Mountains, Yekaterinburg will be the first significant stop on the way to the final destination. It was founded in 1723 and named after Peter the Great's wife, Catherine. It grew and became the main administrative, industrial and cultural center of the Ural region. In addition to its beautiful classical architectural monuments, the city is notable for its history, closely linked to the Romanov dynasty, especially with the last days of Tsar Nicholas II and his family in the Ipatiev house. The border between Europe and Asia is also located near Yekaterinburg.
Irkutsk, the next obligatory stop on a journey along the Trans–Siberian Railway, has the nickname "little Paris&because of his intense cultural life. Irkutsk is a charming town founded in the seventeenth century on the Angara River. Here you can admire the typical wooden houses of the folk architecture of Siberia, immerse yourself in the tragic fate of the exiled Decembrists in Irkutsk, who were exiled to these places near Lake Baikal (70 km) after the uprising against the tsar in 1825. So, in Irkutsk you should visit the Museum of the Decembrists, as well as the Znamensky Monastery.
Vladivostok is the final destination of the Trans-Siberian Railway after more than nine thousand kilometers of travel. Vladivostok welcomes travelers to the beautiful Golden Horn Bay. Its historical monuments, its fortress, and rich museums make it an attractive city for tourism. The large port city of Vladivostok is located on the Russian Pacific coast. Since the Pacific Fleet is located here, the city was closed to foreigners until 1990. And its proximity to China, Japan and Korea rightly make it the center of trade relations between Russia and Asia. Try Zotabet and explore betting options.
